“SHE WORKS HARD FOR MORE THAN JUST HER MONEY”

Runway preparation April 26, 2012

Nowadays the term Barbie has been used to portray women in today’s society negatively. This usually describes a girl who is scantily-clad and has no respect for themselves. Melonie Halasz is an aspiring model, fashion designer, and recording artist. She is determined on changing the unconstructive imagery that is taking place in the entertainment and modeling industry. Melonie Halasz has been modeling for about 7 years and gracefully, at the age of 19 she is working her way towards greatness. The title name of this article comes on the eve of Donna Summers death. (Rest in Peace I was thinking of discarding the title and the following day she passed away so it was only fitting to keep the title) Fashion designs come naturally to Melonie and she is really dedicated to her work. Her designs include dresses, hand bags, and accessories. Melonie states, “People didn’t use to expose themselves when they were modeling, but now they do.” Beauty and class can be a better portrayal of modeling as opposed to showing off the majority of your skin.

On April 26, 2012 she was involved in a fashion show presented by Pact Fashion. Pact Fashion is a sewing and design program targeting youths. The program empowers the youths by helping them develop new skills, and by teaching them about fashion and design. The show provided us with just a glimpse of how Melonie’s hard work has paid off. Melonie’s appearance in this event displayed her ability to create and model her own product. She showcased very confidently, a see through seamless dress with a leather top. The outfit drew rave reviews as a random photographer, a designer’s mother, and all her peers said they lovedher design.

Melonie’s most recent contribution to fashion and design came on Youth Day. The Youth Day Event is a non-profit summer festival, which was held this year on July 22, 2012 at Young and Dundas Square in Toronto, Canada. The festival pays special tribute to youths who actively participate in music art, and dance. The event also had special guest hosts that MC’d the event. The guest MC’s were Tre Armstrong of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and Flows 93.5 radio personality, Luke Aaron, and Liona Boyd. Once more she exquisitely, modeled her out fit with style and class.

Melonie is a very strong-minded and focused young female. Her goal is to stamp her mark on the modeling and entertainment industry. Melonie’s brand will be pushing towards eliminating exploitation and exposure of women.(Or at least toning it down) This may be an uphill battle as showing skin in videos, magazines, etc. has become status quo. Without a doubt Melonie Halasz, will one day be a well renowned published print model. She is currently working in the studios in attempt to pursue a career as a recording artist. You should be on the lookout for her new designs and upcoming shows. Oh by the way in case you didn’t know Melonie Halasz works very hard for her money so you better treat her right!!!!
